Nomadx Touring – “Your next favorite overlanding couple!”
For the past 14 months, we’ve been exploring Southern Africa and the surrounding countries through the eyes of a mixed couple overlanding duo, in our custom self-built 2025 Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD-6 E-Cab 4×4.

Our journey has taken us across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe, through deserts, mountain passes, remote campsites, wildlife reserves and some of the most breathtaking landscapes on the continent. Along the way we’ve discovered that the best adventures are rarely planned perfectly, they are earned through experience, perseverance and a willingness to explore beyond the obvious.
Those experiences have led us to something much bigger.
Behind the scenes, we are currently working on the most ambitious project we’ve ever undertaken.
A project that will take us far beyond the borders of Southern Africa.
The journey will cross continents, cultures, climates and thousands of kilometres of some of the world’s most challenging and spectacular terrain.
The vehicle itself remains under wraps for now.
What we can tell you is that every decision is being made with reliability, simplicity and long-distance exploration in mind. This won’t be a showroom build or a social-media prop. It is being designed for real-world overlanding, remote travel and the kind of adventures that test both vehicle and crew.
In the coming weeks you’ll see the build begin to take shape as new components arrive, partnerships are announced and the vision gradually becomes reality.
We’ll be sharing every step of the process—the successes, the setbacks, the lessons learned and the preparation required for a journey of this scale.
The road ahead is longer than anything we’ve attempted before.
The destination is thousands of kilometres away.
And this is only the beginning.
